Heel Pain & Plantar Fasciitis

Find relief from heel pain with personalized treatment from our registered chiropodists.

Understanding Heel Pain

Heel pain is one of the most common foot conditions we treat. The most frequent cause is plantar fasciitis, an inflammation of the band of tissue (plantar fascia) that runs along the bottom of your foot connecting your heel bone to your toes.

Other causes of heel pain may include Achilles tendinitis, heel spurs, stress fractures, nerve compression, or arthritis. A proper assessment by a chiropodist is important to determine the underlying cause and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Common Symptoms

Sharp pain in the heel, especially with first steps in the morning
Pain that worsens after prolonged standing or walking
Discomfort when climbing stairs or standing on tiptoes
Tenderness or swelling at the bottom of the heel
Pain that improves with rest but returns with activity
Stiffness in the foot or ankle
